Just not a mono day for me

Good day. We still have some color and that is wonderful to see.

The International Court of Arbitration in The Hague ruled that Russia must pay $267 million in damages to DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company. This is compensation for assets Russia seized when it took Crimea in 2014. The assets were a subsidiary called DTEK Krymenergo. Putin has just transferred the stocks of DTEK Krymenergo to Russian authorities in Crimea. The Russian government had been holding them/claiming ownership of them, so I’m thinking this moves the obligation to pay from Russia to Russian authorities in Crimea - not that it really matters since no one has any idea how DTEK could collect anyway.

Germany’s governing coalition has agreed to double its aid to Ukraine.

Russian state media said Moscow's troops retreated from a key position in the southern Kherson region, and then retracted it and apologized.
