Up the wall.
How lovely to wake up to some sunshine and no wind.
Storm Debi has passed over. Just a couple of casualties in the garden. The tall fuchsia blew over and snapped off. I usually cut it back to ground level, so hopefully it will grow again next year.
A clematis which was growing up an obelisk also blew almost over. Again now cut back. Also a few hydrangea flower branches broke off. I have now brought some of the flowers inside and put them in a vase.
So this afternoon, in between the heavy showers, I swept up more leaves. Brown bin full again for collection on Thursday.
The photo is of Hydrangea Petiolaris which is growing up next door’s house. It wasn’t effected by the storm.
We had a very enjoyable evening last night. James was on top form and had us all laughing throughout his presentation. Unfortunately the wines, which were from South Africa, were a bit mediocre, but the food was excellent and our friends really enjoyed the evening. Think they may come again.
