Life Made Soulful
... in the flickering shadows. (Gideon Heugh)
Woke to another beautifully misty morning (after a painful night from our vaccinations yesterday), so decided to go see what the bridge looked like.
Ended up taking a walk through an ancient oak and olive grove, festooned with sparkly webs, and a large area with dug out holes and some collapsed tunnels - foxes or badgers or what?? And a bush we didn't recognise, with red and black berries, which turned out to be mastic (pistacia lentiscus), which produces highly prized resin, but only in certain places in Greece and Turkey, (in extra).
It was all so beautiful, we went up to Monsaraz, and were bowled over by the thick cloud below us, while the village itself was in bright sunshine; I've put videos on my WhatsApp status.
Gratefuls:
- video chats with all three of our kids and two of the grandkids, always makes me feel tethered (cf yesterday's blessing)
- good chat with Eileen as well, and arrangements for meals with folk tomorrow; more re-membering
- a delicious lunch (if I do say so myself), eaten outside in warm, bright sunshine
