Root and Branch

The sunny window in the weather enabled us to gather most of the leaves from the lawn today. We put them in, aerated black bags for storing until they are ready to use as compost. On our walk this afternoon we saw evidence of heavy pruning of foliage and small trees along our walking route by our enthusiastic borough council workers. It is a shame to see berries hacked out of the hedgerows denying the birds this vital winter food.
