Memorial

Didn’t have much opportunity to take photos on my visit to the National Memorial Arboretum for various reasons. But this is part of one of the most moving memorials in my opinion. There was a crowd around the statue of the blindfolded soldier so he’s not shown. But each of these posts represents a young soldier shot at dawn for “cowardice” during WW1. Sad and shocking. The individually crocheted red poppies on each one add to the poignancy.
