Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2023 Monday — Hospitality

Surely many people have the gift of hospitality and all the trimmings that accentuate the gift -- showcase homes, well equipped kitchens, culinary skills, fine China, an elegant dining room. Somethings, however, can't be bought.

When a person or a couple have this gift, hospitality, it doesn't matter where they are -- a little mountain cabin, a shack in the desert, and RV parked on the ocean's edge -- they take what they have and as they touch it, magnificence begins to unfold. Robin & Cynthia ooze in the gift of hospitality. They choose over and over to unwrap their gift. If you are nearby, you find yourself in the wonder of it all -- wrapping paper, ribbons & bows, glitter and glow. That's what happened this evening as Mr. Fun & I entered the magic kingdom of their castle, I mean RV, parked here in Cayucos.

They know that these two from "Fun-ville" are learning the art of eating low-to-nothing sodium meals. So that's exactly what they prepared and included introducing us to the concept of cooking with an "air-fryer," so we were not only experiencing their hospitality gift, but we were in their classroom. Cynthia is also a retired professor from the RCC District.

These two are "Forever Friends" . . . for the 35+ years we've known them, our paths have not been side-by-side but rather crisscrossing occasionally, but in retirement they are crisscrossing more, so we did what we always do with them, lots of filling-in the blanks and learning about each other. Enjoyable moments, eternal moments, with two very gifted Jesus lovers. It was a November evening we will savor for a long, long time. What a night! What a feast! What a treat! and all in the magnificence of their RV.
