Caribbean Night
Spent the majority of the day waiting around. Went to Marshall's to do some shopping. I was unsuccessful there for the first time in months, but I was able to get a couple of things for a present and I finally got my hands on a copy of Shel Silverstein's book, The Giving Tree, which makes me happy.
Lauren had heard about Caribbean Night at Eisenhower park tonight, so we went to check it out. Here's a shot of the band stand. There was a reggae band playing which was fun. We didn't stay for too long. We wandered around the 9-11 memorial and Veteran's memorial that they have there and decided that those places would be great to visit when you need somewhere peaceful to go. I will def be going back there to take some more blips of the memorials.
We couldn't decide what to do after leaving Caribbean night. All of our ideas involved food and we really weren't hungry. On our way out of the park, we spotted a little fair, so we stopped and walked around and I convinced Lauren to play a $3 even though she really didn't want to. Lauren won the prize! A cute pink and yellow Toucan bird. Not that either of us need any more stuffed animals at 22/23, but oh well. We came home where Lisamarie met up with us and we watched Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's Our Lips Our Sealed. Yes, that's how we spend out Saturday night and I quite enjoyed it! Even got some ideas for what to do when I visit Sydney at the end of August.
Peace out cub scouts.
