Step back in time...

... to the 1940s.

Having had an excellent family lunch, we travelled back to Harrogate and visited a 1940s Open Day in the Valley Gardens. Not really knowing what to expect, we were surprised at the amount of effort many people had made to recreate the dress and atmosphere of the time.

There were many possible subjects for today's blip but with so many people, it was very difficult to isolate the well dressed 1940 style from those who, like ourselves, had popped in as spectators. Those who had really gone to town on their livery were more than happy to be photographed, but I was not always 100% certain whether to photograph someone who might have simply arrived wearing clothes from a charity shop.

I eventually decided to blip this small group who had done a first rate job on their authentic appearance. More from the forties here
