Short fuse

I suspect that knowledge of what this is will be shared among the more mature generations. Nowadays you go to the “consumer unit” and flick a switch.

In my youth and until just a few years ago, you had to remove each fuse to see which had blown ( if the box had not been properly labelled). Then you had to thread the correct wire into the fuse, screw it tight and push it back into the socket hoping it did not spark.

So much more fun. I found this, and other fuse wire, when clearing out the “ electrical box”.

I should throw it out but ………
