Sydney and Blue Mountains
The day started rather grey with a glowering view across the harbour from the Consulate (see extra).
By lunchtime the sun was shining and I had a brief wander round (picturing the tower the Consulate is in from the outside - see extra) before taking a few final calls and meetings.
In the middle of the afternoon my Aunt G and Cousin A came into Sydney to pick me up, and we headed up into the Blue Mountains to my Cousin K's house, where we met up with Cousin E too, and many cousinlets!
Two of the kids were delighted to guide us on a walk to see some spectacular views over the mountains in the low sun. The naturally reddish rock forms gorgeous colours and shadows, and the more distant mountains literally look blue due to Eucalyptus oils in the air, which also gives the whole area a lovely fragrant scent. We returned via picturesque waterfalls (another extra).
A lovely family evening meal, lots of chat, a few games, and plenty of lovely Australian Pinot Noir rounded the day off nicely!
