Bath time
First of all, thanks so much for your comments in response to my kitchen shots yesterday. The clear favourite was the fig shot, followed by the curry! There were lots of constructive suggestions in terms of alternative approaches, but having spent so long faffing around, and - typically - leaving things to the last minute, I’ve decided to just use those two shots as my entries!
Fortunately, the weather allows for outdoor photography today, and we visit Llanfairfechan. The swans here don’t seem to have had a successful brood this year; their nest was fenced off for much of the summer, but I’ve seen no cygnets when we’ve visited, and today the pair are all alone.
It’s obviously preening time for one, and there’s lots of joyous splashing and flapping and stretching. I must admit I love watching them do this, creating clouds of droplets splashing high into the air, wings outstretched in a display which combines grace and strength perfectly. There’s even an open mouthed whoop of joy - all this is so much contrast to the gentle stillness that follows, exhausted after all that fun!
So it’s a bath time set today - better large on black.
