College roof lighting switched on for the first time in a few years. Might be by mistake, or they may have changed the lights for lower wattage LED types, as switching off the original ones made a considerable energy and cost saving. The building does look better with them on IMHO.
Received the collection of faulty Nikon flashguns. Four SB-800s & two SB-700s, along with a Nikon 1 6.7-13mm VR lens. The flashguns mostly had suffered battery leakage issues, and five of them worked after a basic initial cleaning, though one of the SB-700s also had a zoom error displayed. The one SB-800 that didn't flash, acted as the reported fault, everything seemed to work but the flash tube didn't light, and may have blown. Replacements tubes are available, via the big auction website.
The lens probably has a broken flexible cable, which is a very common problem with the Nikon 1 zoom lenses. For the stabilised (VR) lenses there are two cables, both of which can (or will?) fail.
