New cast

I received my new cast today as you can see in this photo. My surgery was a “mid foot fusion” and a bunion repair. After removing all the original bandages and soft splint I was able to see the incisions and sutures. I will save you from the visual insult of seeing the swelling and bruising. It is quite the “Frankenstein” foot (apropos for being performed on Halloween) with 4 sutured incisions. I have a total of 4 plates, 10 screws, two staples and 42 sutures. The sutures were removed today and a hard cast applied for the next 4 weeks, non-weight bearing.
