Barbecue preparations
The weather broke just as we finished our picnic lunch after a hike in the Akamas following the Smigies Trail past disused magnesium mines. Our lunchtime entertainment was watching these chaps construct a barbecue protected from the anticipated rain by extravagant sheets of what looked clingfilm, the sort of stuff some people protect their suitcases with. They had a large crate of Keo and were having a very jolly time. After curiosity got the better of us, they told us they were preparing spareribs which would take several hours.
It’s now raining quite dramatically and the sea is very choppy so I didn’t manage to grab a final swim. The bar calls instead.
