Lindisfarne Castle

Today started very wet and windy, so we set up in a corner of the hotel for a critique session of yesterday's photos.  As always with these sessions, it was interesting to see the different images and styles presented, and I for one came away with (as one person said) "photograph envy"!

By mid morning the weather had cleared a bit, so we headed to Holy Island and views from the beach of Lindisfarne Castle (converted by architect Sir Edwin Lutyens into a private holiday home for Edward Hudson, the founder of Country Life magazine).

The afternoon was spent in the highly interesting Holy Island Harbour which is renown for its shed made of upside down boat hulls. This area is a delight for those of us interested in dereliction and an eye for detail, and of course the iconic castle in the background (extras).

As we had to leave the island by 4pm due to the causeway being covered by the incoming tide, we had time for another critique session before dinner.

Another good day!
