Inversion, Skiddaw Little Man

We set out this morning to climb Skiddaw Little Man and Longscale Fell, to add another couple of fells to my 4th Wainwright round. As we climbed up, there were great inversions in the distance all round us, but nothing close to us. We felt a little sore at not experiencing them close up. However, just as we got to the summit of Skiddaw Little Man, the Sun came out, and the clouds began to form below us! We had agreed to scatter some of a past guest's ashes up there - and I couldn't imagine better conditions - he would have loved the view. Rather than simply turning right and heading to Longscale Fell, we continued on to the summit of Skiddaw as well, (so as to continue the experience of the inversion), then walked over to Longscale Fell as well. A 10 miler, but a lot of climbing.
