Seriously?

On guard

Total cloud cover and a storm in the air as Rufus, Gece and I went for our morning walk rather later than usual. On the way back, walking past the new builds that I've blipped several times in the last few months, we noticed the fine workmanship (not) where already, the boundary wall corner pillar has either fallen down, or more likely, an over enthusiastic machine operator of some kind misjudged his aim and reach when pouring concrete behind.  (One wonders why they built the wall before doing the other work inside the boundary?)  Gece felt that the mound of sand was exactly what she needed for a temporary lookout point to survey the damage.

The storm held off until we were all safely back and brunching, for which I am most glad as the deluge was astonishing, the gale force wind sending rain and other items in streaks across the garden - so glad that the Bougainvillea bent right over at one point, did survive intact. The thunder and lightening brought a total of 8 garden cats on to my (glass enclosed) balconies and garden woofer Gece came inside to sit in the salon with Rufus, Harry, Cleo and me until the thunder moved away, some 30 minutes later.

Although the storm moved on quite quickly, the skies remained dark and indoors was so gloomy that I fell asleep, not waking up until around 4.30!!.  Nothing that a long, long hot shower couldn't fix so that I was sufficiently energized to go with Kat and Graham (with Rufus as well of course) to Caspers restaurant in Didim for the evening where there was live music from a particularly pleasant easy-on-the-ear vocalist in a duo called It Takes Two. The repertoire included the popular songs you'd expect and a few nice surprises. Rufus was a hit too, with other customers, as always.
