"Sound of Jura"

Most travellers in Western Scotland will be familiar with Western Ferries the company who run their four vehicle ferries across the Clyde from Gourock to Cowal.
They started in 1968 on the Islay and Jura service. Here on this page from my album is the "Sound of Jura" an ex Norway roll on roll off ship which was the first of this new type serving western islands. They were ousted by the huge Caledonian MacBrayne company and now operate only on the Clyde but a very popular efficient profitable and unsubsidised service.
