It’s behind you…

My morning started at 10 in Cambridge with two very engaging Cambridge Literary Festival events. These women sitting in front of me must have been looking for a friend: as they turned round in unison I couldn’t help but capture them for my blip.

The first session was Laura Freeman talking about her new book Ways of Life: Jim Ede and The Kettle’s Yard Artists, which made me want to go straight round there AND read the book. This was followed by Alice Vincent and Marchelle Farrell whose books centre on women and gardening. Not the usual garden book fare (you know, white middle class) but more about the stories of growing that ‘ordinary’ (a bad expression but the right word hasn’t come to me yet) women engage in, whether it’s for relaxing, nurturing, recovery and healing, producing, connections and many other reasons. It was a nicely thought-provoking start to the day. Then a quick shufty around the new exhibition at Kettle’s Yard - sadly not in the same league as the Palestinian embroidery. Definitely a good day. And now before 5pm it’s dark and drizzly. Sunshine tomorrow?
I hope you’ve all enjoyed your weekends and thank you for the latest stars and kind words. All very much appreciated :-)
