Speckled Yellow Moth
This is a Yellow Shell Moth Speckled Yellow Moth on a Buttercup. Before you mistake me for a entomological smarty pants I should explain that a member of the Kent Field Group identified this creature to me. I have seen it often in early summer particularly in Blean Woods, which is where I saw it today.
A bad year for Moths, Butterflies and Bees because of the very persistently cold weather. Hardly any around even now in mid-June.
