A load of old rubbish

Every two weeks this colourful recycling truck parks on the road in front of our house and the cheerful staff empty our various coloured boxes. In the weeks in between a truck collects our non recyclable rubbish.

Like many of our friends we are especially concerned about plastic which is a serious world problem. It never rots away but breaks down into micro plastic which is now found all over the world. It is eaten by fish and then by us. If you collect a small jar of sand from the beach here in Arnside and spread it out on a tray you will find many tiny plastic pieces. Long term it is a huge problem.
