Day 16: Family
It's my first wedding anniversary today. I love thinking back on our wedding day and remembering all the support we had on the build up and on the actual day. A lot of people contributed to making it special and I won't ever forget that.
Here's a clip of our first dance for anyone who's interested. We had a 1950s themed wedding and our plan was to do a surprise switch during our first dance from a slow song to the pulp fiction 'you never can tell' dance. When the moment came for the music to change (about 2 mins 50 secs in) I didn't do a very good job of looking shocked lol! I'd forgotten we still had our first dance to do and just relaxed into the day, so when J came and found me to remind me, within 30 seconds the music started and I found my heart thumping and my mouth really dry. Shallow breathing! I knew we had this little dance and a few moves planned but i couldn't remember it properly. My rhythm went out of the window for the most part and i can tell when i look at myself in this that my mind is not all there during the first half, but I can also tell the exact moment when I suddenly relaxed into it and really let myself go. My heart still thumps in that same way every time I watch this clip back.
The first anniversary is apparently paper so I made J an origami card and also got some cinema tickets and a lottery scratch card for us. We went to see 'man of steel' this evening which was a bit disappointing to be honest. The effects are great but you never really care about the plot or the characters. I did enjoy being out with just the 2 of us, plus we won our £1 back on the scratch card.
Spent the morning at the garage getting the exhaust replaced and this afternoon sorting through the wedding pics from yesterday. The kids have been tired and challenging for the most part :-s
