Glasgow Mela 2013

A mela is a gathering, usually associated with Indian people.

The Glasgow Mela takes place in Kelvingrove Park each year and lasts a whole weekend. There's a few stages with singing and dancing, plenty of places to eat and a host of stalls and shops.

You might think that the mela would be for Indian folk only. In Glasgow, everyone mixes and there's a real sense of community created - the mela is for everyone.

These guys were superb - they played at the closing of London 2012 and have performed for the Queen!
