White Pizza. Wine: Leitmotif Slide Hill Vineyard Syrah 2019.

As Mondays often are, it's been a tiring day. Our local pizza spot is doing a limited run of white pizzas which makes me very happy. The wine is from a familiar vineyard to us in the Edna valley (Andrew Murray, whose wines we drink very frequently, has made one of his wines from this Vineyard's grapes for years until he lost access last vintage). This shows how much difference a winemaker can make. This one has the beautiful, complex underlying flavor we love, but it is barely perceptible because the wine is oaked to oblivion.
