Putting the star back.
I was in the magnificent surroundings of Glasgow City Chambers today , in my role as Honorary President of the European Movement in Scotland.
The "Star of European Unity " is on tour at present and today it was formally welcomed to Glasgow by the Lord Provost, Jacqueline McLaren .
I was privileged to reply on behalf of EMIS and then to chair an inaugural meeting of a new Forum for EU Citizens living in Glasgow and the West of Scotland which I hope will not only support them, but also demonstrate the many advantages of being part of the European Union, which we are presently lacking because of Brexit, something we did not vote for and which is causing much damage.
The Star is available to visit until the end of the week and then is in Stirling and Glenrothes. It will be at the Scottish Parliament on the 29th of November and in Edinburgh City Chambers the next day, where I will meet up with it again !
