If in doubt sit by a basket.. is her rule.  Here she is waiting for me to finish my breakfast and contemplating coming over to inspect the butter dish! In the meantime the basket is good company. 

She has been out in the damp all day.. has been seen to be catching and playing with mice in the garden.. the most recent one escaped into a big pile of leaves.. she eventually left (leaved) it alone. 
The range has been serviced and is slowly cranking up to normal heat once more.  In the meantime it is a good excuse to have a take away tonight so that is a bit of a treat. 
I was meant to paint today.. the light has not been great so I haven't as yet but still might (especially having owned up on here!)
