In my garden
Turns out it didn’t need two of us to deliver an item to Hitchin today, so as it was already in the van, that meant I was back to a garden blip.
My last remaining flowering clematis.
However I am very satisfied today as the said item (a specialist old diamond weighing machine of my fathers) was giving me some cause for concern and now it has gone to a good home at a traditional specialist jewellers who will be pleased to use it for their window display at some point.
Thank you for the idea Anne :-)
I also had a wobble late last night about completion day as we need to set off around ten am so we get to our destination well before dark (it’s a four hour journey from here with one or two doggie leg stretch breaks) and I was imagining all sorts of money transfer delays. So after several emails and telephone calls today it looks likely the transfer will happen early doors on the day having been "sent" the night before, so fingers crossed, we should be ok.
I also spent an hour on hold on the phone with The Revenue today to ask them a couple of questions. I had previously done a thorough online search but needed to speak with an actual person. She was very knowledgeable (once I was through to the right department) and my queries were answered in about 5 minutes but it was worth the wait.
