Kennebec
The Kennebec River courses its way through Maine into the Atlantic Ocean. It’s 170 miles long, 17-27 ft deep and 150 ft wide. We’re fortunate to see it often as it runs parallel to the road we travel almost daily • It’s named by the Abenaki, an indigenous people of Northeastern US and Canada. Some say it means “snaky monster” because of its twists and turns but others interpret it as “long quiet water” • It certainly looked long and quiet today as we marveled its serenity among naked trees. A storm is brewing and we’re hoping for snow overnight :) • Peace & Love
