Rose sawfly
Took it easy at BodyPump - I have felt a bit sick when I've done it close to a blood donation before.
Cold and miserable day with showers. You really shouldn't have to wear jumpers in June.
Did a bit of pond watching with son number one. We saw some tiny efts (newt tadpoles) in the pond - great news as it means that the newts have bred in the new pond this year. We also spotted a large and sinister looking dragonfly or damselfly larvae.
There were so many bees in the garden today. The ones that got stuck in the oriental poppies were very noisy. I spotted this bright yellow fly on some grass. I think it is a large rose sawfly (Arge pagana) according to the Gardensafari webpage. We have had sawflies on the rose at the front of the house before but it is looking quite healthy this year.
Sorted out Son number one's CV and updated it so he's ready to start applying for casual jobs in Sheffield when he gets back.
Enjoyed a leisurely day (also our 23rd wedding anniversary) - shame that it wasn't warmer and sunnier.
