November Snow …

… this evening, seen from our front porch. It’s the first of the winter, falling evidently to salute Thanksgiving, which is in two days, this coming Thursday.

It reminds me of three years (or so) ago, when we returned from Thanksgiving at Raphael’s in New Jersey to encounter a heavy evening snowstorm in Northampton.  We had reserved a taxi, and called it, but it didn’t come.  We walked nearly the whole way from the train station to our home before a lift from a passerby brought us the final distance.
