Plenty and poverty
Fk set off at 6.15am for his cadet wknd away. MrK was still undecided about going somewhere overnight. Norfolk was now not an option as head to be back early Sunday afternoon for his pick up to Heathrow. I was still searching availability and low cost.
Plumped for a hotel just outside Ipswich, with a pool. Incredibly good price....too good to be true?
We quickly got some bits together and headed out to Dedham first, in the rain.
Such a pretty, up market village which is full of visitors in the warmer months, due to its proximity to Flatford Mill. Arnold Chapel had been converted into arts and crafts on three floors, with a beautiful stained glass window at the back.
Coffee and crumpets in a buzzy little cafe before heading to Ipswich
It couldn't of been more different. So many empty shops and a feeling of desolation. The architecture was glorious which was big plus. We walked around many streets, but the feeling was heavy.
Onto the hotel, which was fine. A little tired, but fine. A lovely swim, dinner and a drink in the bar reading the papers and chatting. So pleased we did this. Quality time together.
