Up, up and away

Mike left really early this morning, 6am , to catch the first bus to the airport. He had to catch another one from the station that drops you off just outside the entrance to the airport.
He had a good flight down and caught a taxi to his Mum’s. His brothers were there too and it did not take them long to get out into the garden to take down the large aerial that Mum was frightened would fall down.
He was a keen Radio Ham most of his life . Even when a school boy he would make crystal radios that the other lads would gather round in the playground. There’s lots of kit to find a home for now . At the moment it fills the small bedroom.
I got stuck in to tidying the house. There’s a fine dust everywhere so I’ve washed all the ornaments and cleaned some of the floors. Do not know why I thought it was a good idea to give the house a Spring Clean before the work was done ;)
Enjoyed watching Strictly with a few nibbles.
I’ve turned most of the radiators down to see if it makes a difference to the towel rails.
There is a hum from the water tank so we will have to get used to that. We’re used to it being silent at night except for the owls :)
