Our new Logo

Today is a day for change.

By way of introduction for my overseas blip friends, th U.K. has 15 National Parks.
But in addition England, Wales and Northern Ireland have had for the last fifty years or so 46 places designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty which cover 18% of our national land area. Scotland has its own system.

From today the AONB designation has come to an end. From now on the are all to be called National Landscapes.
So now I live in the Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape.
It is still as beautiful as it has always been.

My extra shows a selection of the logos for the new National Landscapes. The sharp eyed may notice that some of the logos appear twice. This is because a few of them have not yet decided on their new logos.
They will all have their name at the side of the symbols and should appear as road signs as you enter the areas. One of the objects of this exercise is to raise public awareness of the existence  of all these special areas.
