Your Life Story . . . Mary Chapin Carpenter
If we had stayed longer we would have got this chaps whole life story. He was playing disc golf and was ready to chat about the game. Like golf this was a par three course so he had three chances to get his disc in the basket. The basket is off to the left and his first shot had the distance but landed off to the right. He took two more shots to land in the basket. He likes the walking and being out in the trees. I thought the trees were a hinderance but he said that's the challenge. He likes to bring his dog along but his ex partner is at present refusing him access to the dog.
Our walk had been up hill to a look out over the Maitai Valley and then back down and through the trees beside the Maitai river. Walking in the shade was lovely. We saw a Tui and a Kereru/wood pigeon.
Jens partner Paul gave me two artichoke plants to bring home. If they grow he will then tell me how to cook them. I have got to this age and never eaten an artichoke heart.
