This morning’s dawn sky.
The clouds in the east were bright red when Maisie and I set out at 5.45am. By the time we reached the river, 10 minutes from home, the sky and clouds had morphed to orange tones. A fiery sky…. (A harbinger of high temperatures to come. It was 31.5C in my porch in the shade this afternoon.)
During our early walk there were lots of “Mare’s Tails” clouds in the sky. There is a Proverb which says “Mare’s Tails and Mackerel Scales make lofty ships to carry low sails”. The clouds indicate bad weather to come. If sailors see those clouds while out at sea they would know to lower their sails and head to shore pronto. The bad weather could follow within 12 to 18 hours.
