Light Challenge results
Thank you for brightening up our home pages with your varied and interesting entries for the #BCLight Challenge from 4-18th Nov.
November was bound to bring beautiful autumnal hues from around the Northern Hemisphere. We loved the matching quote in there is a crack in everything.. and the impressive layers in Black sky, sunshine and shadows.
There were fireworks at the start of the challenge, and an excited kid with Genetic Pyromania before it was time to pause and reflect around Remembrance Day.
November offered many of you the chance to check out a light installation, including a blipmeet at the Union Canal and Hamp5on’s take on the Ibiza Light Festival. Gorgeous colourful spheres by sgwarnog caught our eye, as well as a girl enjoying Tripping the light fantastic.
We had sombre reflection in The chapel by candlelight, London’s South Bank by streetlight in Up town at twilight and a humble but unusual light source from rowanhagdorn. Blippers got creative with First Frozen Bubbles of the Season! and our star cover photo by stswithin50. We are definitely interested in learning more about the art of light painting!
Natural light shone through in several entries. Storm Debi made an impact in Wales, Veronica caught beautiful sunsets in Spain, and we loved the composition of this Oceanside Pier Sunset in California. A nicely timed dog walk from SpotsOfTime and the simplicity (or should that be complexity?) of grass captured in Sun down....
Different buildings inspired you as they caught the light, were lit up beautifully or silhouetted against the night sky. In what was only her second ever blip, Stephanielouise spotted a moment of peacefulness. The Avicii Stadium in Stockholm looks fantastic bathed in sunlight, while Salford Quays at night meant some stunning reflections by Ellisroger. A cathedral light fitting made for a dramatic composition by alannahseyes.
Impossible to mention all the great pictures but let’s finish with three more favourites:
Sparkles | HClaireB
Frosted people | Bogdan
A gap in the clouds | JohnGravett
See you again next month!
