Starry!
This photo was taken around 3.30 this morning! Yes, Brian and I were out raking around until the wee small hours of a Thursday morning.
Not as much fun as it may sound... When Brian was getting ready for bed his shin started absolutely pouring blood for no obvious reason. At one point it was squirting out like from a hosepipe, which was very alarming, and it showed no signs of stopping.
We went downstairs and found a large absorbent dressing, which was soon soaked. We called 111! After various conversations over a couple of calls, interspersed with me trying to scrub blood from the carpets, it was decided he should go to A&E. He couldn't drive, I can't drive and no ambulance was available for around 8 hours, so they provided a free taxi!
We sat in the UTC for a few hours with some melodramatic inebriated students and a sweet family until he could be seen. His leg was still bleeding. The doctor treated it with something made from ground oyster shells and dressed it, and we were on our way home at last.
He has been to Metheringham and to work today and seems to have no ill effects other than being knackered. I had the luxury of a lie-in!
Some progress has happened with the legal matter today. Amid much freaking out about it, panicking and searching for stuff I have something I can send. I need three references though and I'd be hard pressed to find one...(Same goes for job seeking)
Minstrel is grumpy. I think he found last night unsettling, with the disrupted routine, blood everywhere and disappointment that his hopes of getting to eat one of his humans was dashed,* Then today he kept sitting on my paperwork and I could not be my usual indulgent self in this matter and kept moving him, much to his chagrin.
* This is something people who don't like cats always seem to say .:"if you bled to death in your house, your cat would eat you." Well good! I wouldn't want him to starve to death too, and I wouldn't care about being eaten if I was dead anyway!
Well I'm going out for a walk to clear my head now! I'll catch up with comments later.
