Romanian Whine

Today was a slow blip day so that meant it had to be time for another wine label blip!
I'd nipped out to the shops to get a bottle of wine but when I got there I realised I'd not come out with enough cash to get the one I wanted and I must admit I was getting a bit grumpy and whining about it under my breath, which was a bit pathetic I know, until I saw this Romanian wine that was cheaper than the one I had intended to get.
I'd never heard of Romanian wine before but then I suddenly remembered the customer in the pub from a couple of days ago extolling the virtues of Romania (see previous blip 14/11/2023) and I thought I should give it a try and stop being such a wine snob. The label describes it as "intensely scented with rose petals, honeysuckle and white peach".
The name Feteasca Regala means "Royal Maiden" in English and the winery that produces it, Cremel Recas, has long been a part of Romania's winemaking history championing local grape varieties which they source from prime vineyards in Transylvania. I can confirm it was absolutely delicious and the price wasn't a pain in the neck either! :-)
