Good day for a reconnoitre

We have been given the first wild walk of 2024 to organise so as a dry day was forecast we headed off to the other Bumpstead to try out a route. A couple of crop fields to start with that were slightly sticky and then a dark brooding sky that convinced us we were going to get wet.
However that came to nothing and we sat on a tractor tyre for our morning coffee and biscuits then finished the walk in full sun.
I even took my gloves off it was so hot!
