Blue -Tailed Damselflies mating!

More damselflies in action! I hadn't noticed the spots on their wings before.

It was a damp and muggy morning on my lakeside walk, so I wasn't sure I'd get to see these again. But I kept looking around the reeds and there they were. Many had paired off like this, so it was just a case of waiting for a pair to settle on the reeds.

A little difficult to focus due to the angle. The male is a little out of focus. I didn't have much choice in my position unless I wanted wet feet & a complete dunking! So it's the best I could manage. I loved the detail on the female's wings.
