Murmuration of starlings

A murmuration of starlings is one of the eight wonders of the world!

We went to Siddick Ponds ( near ASDA in Workington )yesterday afternoon just before 4pm.

What an amazing sight! Thousands of starlings swooping in the air making amazing shapes!

My colour photo didn't show them especially well, so I turned it into B&W, then made the collage.

Last Winter we had murmurations in Cockermouth and Wigton...in previous years we have seen them at Gretna. Such a privilege to see one of Nature's finest spectacles!

We'll be going back again before too long!
