Thought we’d have a wee look.

We went to visit here morning; St Michael’s Parish Church in Linlithgow, immediately beside the Palace. Our grandson is getting baptised here on 3 December. The sun was beaming through the church's 750th anniversary stained glass window (1992) in the St. Katherine's Aisle; that observation alone underscores that the Church features in many notable periods of Scottish history. It’s a lovely building. I’ve mentioned it several times in my journal in November.

After lunch we went to rugby. A cold blue sky afternoon, frost on the fringes of the pitch, ice in the car park. Our younger son is still injured, (he was away in Melrose), no wee family either, so just us. The team beat the opposition convincingly.

Tea at halftime was welcome. But I was glad to get home for soup.
