Woodpigeon ( Columba palumbus )

My App said the aurora could be visible to the eye and camera anywhere in the UK.  So we made a trip out to our favourite dark spot near Blencathra.  Well, the Aurora may have been visible somewhere but it certainly wasn't in our part of the world.

So I have fallen back on one of my "just in case" shots taken this morning.  I know some people don't like Woodpigeons, I can't understand why.  Unlike feral pigeons, they don't congregate in large numbers or take up residence in/on buildings.  The colours of the neck and breast are in my opinion fascinating.
