Panto time

At Woking station this evening on "taxi" duty. Whilst waiting for the train to come in I couldn't help notice the ticket barriers adorned with publicity for this year's pantomime at Woking's New Victoria Theatre. It's years since I've been to a pantomime- oh, no it's not, oh yes it is - and I know this Christmas theatrical tradition is a key source of income for hard pressed theatres. So perhaps I should go,  but Anton du Beke and one of the Chuckle Brothers don't really set my genie alight. I did see a production of Peter Pan at the National Theatre once but it wasn't done in pantomime style.
