Silly Indulgence.

I was scrolling around the internet, as one does, looking for pillows for our bed. I made a new quilt for it, but it has been at the quilter's for quite awhile because I've taken two more to her since then and she is doing them ahead of ours because they are gifts. This is a MacKenzie Childs creation of a beaded alligator . People either love MacKenzie Childs things or they hate them. Most of them are a bit over the top even for me, but this struck me as amusing. It will either be overwhelmed by the quilt or will be able to hold its own. We'll have to wait and see when we finally get the quilt back. John is noncommittal....

I passed on the farmers' market today, opting to do a little quilting job for my neighbor instead. As with seemingly everything these days, it took quite a bit longer than I thought it would, stopping as I did every twenty minutes or so to walk up and down the hall which seemed to help my ankle. The high tech dressing on it is just about the level of Spike's nose and we do a somewhat ridiculous dance in order to keep him from bashing into it. Once was enough for that...

And so the day melted away. I went over to my neighbor's to consult with her about the incomprehensible directions that came with her quilt project. She and her sister were making papier mâché  Christmas decorations in the kitchen, and I stayed for a coffee and a chat. I went outside to help John put some solar lights in the garden. We need them in a dark corner, but they don't get enough sun on them during the day to charge them...a Catch-22 situation.

It was lovely to realize that my ankle was much less sore,  and now some other neighbors are coming for dinner and I'd better see to it.
