Iron Maiden

2nd day of Download Festival today, Iron Maiden headlining. I've never been a Maiden fan but you can't argue with a career as long and successful as theirs.

Anyone who has a Spitfire fly over the festival site 3 times in lieu of an intro tape before they come on stage is clearly doing something right. I can't even begin to fathom the logistics of arranging that right next to a commercial airport (East Midlands), but if anyone can wangle that, it'll be Bruce Dickinson.

Today had loads of highlights for me, particularly Karnivool, Alice in Chains and a wonderful (if not drowned out by Motorhead) acoustic set from Devin Townsend. Also loved Katatonia, Black Moth and Iron Maiden themselves!
