Sharing a blueberry muffin

We had Maddy for the morning, taking her to Peet’s while we had a coffee. They were giving samples of various cakes so we shared a blueberry muffin with her. Such precise dexterity for one so young.

Afterwards we went to nearby the Leo Carrillo Historic Park followed by a walk on part of the Carrillo Trail. We’ve been here many times before and always enjoy the visit. Each time the park and its interpretation improves.

Leo Carrillo was a well known celebrity in the 1950s staring in the Cisco Kid and being an ambassador for California. He bought and ran the Carrillo Ranch until his death in 1961. It was his escape from Hollywood.

Much of the ranch has now been built on except for a small area around the hacienda, stables and farm buildings which have now been preserved as a Historic Park.

There was just time to squeeze in some shopping ready for tonight’s visit by Chris’s neighbour and her three children. Maddy enjoyed all the attention. She has been a treasure all day.

One more day tomorrow

In other news, my blip of Oceanside Pier was included in the BCsplash journal posted yesterday.

And sad news from home in that our friend and ukulele bass in the band died overnight from terminal cancer. He lived less than a month after the final diagnose. RIP Chris, now playing to the angels.

Doreen remain in hospital. It’s been difficult for her other daughter, Barbara to get any helpful information about her condition.
