Cocktail hour
Glorious cold crisp sunny day but getting back to London was a hassle. There were no trains running from Cambridge so I got a taxi to Royston, arrived in time to put my hand on the train door as the woman on the platform said, a touch gleefully I thought, ‘it’s locked!’ So I then caught the interminably slow packed train into Kings X. Got off realised I’d left the flipping mugs on the train, raced back praying I’d find them before it set off again for Royston. I did!
Hair cut, popped to the office to leave some things there I then raced over to see B/C and the babies for what would have been our joint birthday lunch tomorrow. The trains tomorrow being too terrible to contemplate (there’s a theme) we decided to do it this evening. B has packs of hand made frozen margaritas so we started off with them. They also got a taco kit from Dishpatch and made those which were absolutely delicious.
But first off we all had terrific fun playing with the babies who were on great form, Ivy is now properly walking and Leo can get up the stairs (alarmingly) but they finally slid exhausted into bed in time for us to eat at 7. 8.30 I was on my way again arriving home at about 1045.
Woody is back home and although feeling a bit sorry for himself, he managed to get up to greet me.
