Winter Show

My second posting today - Friday’s blip is here  https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3175409623700080369

The logical thing for me to do today would be absolutely nothing. However, it’s the Cambrian Winter Show - Cambrian being our wonderful local camera shop - and as part of my ‘social rehabilitation’ programme, I’ve planned to go. I’ve lost so much confidence over the last few years, actually going to events on my own has become very difficult - so it seems important to push myself.

There are three speakers - all excellent photographers in their own field. We start with Mr Whisper, specialising in low-light street photography (https://www.mrwhisperstudios.com), then David Clapp - principally landscape, but, much to my delight, a photographer who has a pretty eclectic approach too.  https://www.davidclapp.co.uk/portfolio, and finally our local hero, Gareth Mon, a landscape and Astro-landscape photographer from Anglesey https://www.garethmon.com. Once again I completely forget to take any photos of the event, so today’s blip of Gareth’s website - well worth looking at with some stunning landscapes.

I’m so pleased that I’ve made the effort - the talks are interesting and inspiring, I meet some members of camera club, and I chat to other photographers. I avoid visiting the shop itself - I really don’t want to be tempted into an expensive pre-Christmas purchase!

Back home, I’m looking forward to a quiet evening, but we end up inviting our neighbours for a meal. They’ve just got back from Gran Canaria and their house is freezing. At least I have an easy meal in the freezer, so preparation’s easy!
