Cold, Dark and Wet

today which is a shame after yesterday.

Thank you all for your kind comments on my disappointment about the job.  


I've been quite upset about it, but from tomorrow I'll be back looking at the job websites again, searching for the last job (I hope) for my working lifetime - only til near the end of 2028 :(

I just hope that I am physically able to do everything I want to when I retire - for example do some travelling which I can't afford now.

(Still quite angry that I have to wait until then as I can't afford to retire early thanks to our delightful government - whichever one it was).

This afternoon after church I did a bit of tidying up and refreshed the bird feeders with fat balls and peanuts, not expecting any birds to come as nothing had been taken in the last fortnight at all.

Much to my surprise when I popped upstairs to shut the curtains and blinds to keep the heat in as its so horrible today, I happened to glance in the garden, and there were at least several blue tits and some gold finches as well!!!  Just a pity that by the time I got back with my phone and my camera, they had all but disappeared again.  

It made my day to see them though :)

(Miss Charlie has been asleep most of the day, I think she's feeling the cold and damp as much as I am)...  

Roll on 2024, I hate these damp dark days before the new year...
